Improving Prioritization in Risk Management

Where We’re Heading in 2025 and How Best to Get There

The future of cybersecurity risk management is unfolding before us! It is being marked by several key changes that have the potential to transform how CISOs and security leaders manage and prioritize risk.

To begin with, we’re witnessing a sizable shift from manual to automated metrics. Static measurements are fast being replaced with outcomes that adapt in real-time, allowing security leaders to respond faster and more effectively to emerging challenges.

We’re also seeing reporting undergoing a radical change. It’s moving from painfully slow, outdated processes to quick click-click solutions that use clear, intuitive, and easy-to-generate visuals. This ensures that everyone, from fellow executives to board members, can easily understand and engage with the data, regardless of their cybersecurity expertise.

We’re witnessing diverse "management languages"—including frameworks, threats, and best practices—being unified into a single, integrated language that improves operational clarity.

Thanks to all these changes, risk management prioritization is evolving from isolated silos to a contextual and comprehensive strategy, allowing security leaders and organizations to focus on what truly matters within the broader context.

We’re working hard to drive these changes forward

Through ongoing collaboration and feedback from our customers and advisors, here are several contributions we made to risk management prioritization in 2024:

  • A Customizable Way to Measure and Narrate Anything – Just before 2024, we launched our Customizable Cybersecurity Performance Boards, built on a security data lake that collects and correlates data into one reliable source (fully automated; no manual effort). These boards are out-of-the-box collections of ready-to-use metrics, allowing security leaders to create their desired narrative in the context that matters most to them.
  • The Entire Security Team Using a Single Platform for Measurements – We expanded the use of cybersecurity metrics to empower the entire security team, making SeeMetrics operative with every user in the security organization in mind. This provides the fastest transition from siloed operational product data into a range of different dashboards and views, meeting various security users’ entire range of measurement needs, helping them easily narrate their particular cybersecurity story.
  • Simplified Way to Report to the Board: Our Specialized Executive Board Reporting allows, for the first time, cybersecurity leaders to generate comprehensive, custom reports for the board, with clear visual narratives on organizational performance and key improvement areas—without the need to translate complex technical language into business terms. Traditional board reporting no more! ‍

As we inch towards 2025, we’d like to predict that a growing number of organizations will adopt a more data-driven approach to managing daily operations, with a comprehensive and dynamic understanding of their security landscape.
